IUGA Officer Role Description

President:

  1. Call all-member meetings of the Association and preside over them.
  2. Be responsible for the administration of any business of the Association.
  3. Represent the Informatics student body in meetings with the faculty.
  4. Hold transitional meetings with past and present directors.
  5. Spokesperson for the Association.
  6. In the event of the Director of Finance’s absence, serve as secondary account handler for all financial transactions including, but not limited to, reimbursements.
  7. Lead officer meetings and prepare agenda.

Vice President

  1. Assume the duties of the President in that director’s absence.
  2. Organize and/or delegate responsibility for social events.
  3. Maintain and promote community outreach with assistance of the Public Relations Director.
  4. Oversee all committees and report their status to the President.

Director of Finance:

  1. Maintain the Association’s financial records.
  2. Provide monthly financial reports to the Association’s executive board.
  3. Organize and delegate responsibility for fundraising events.
  4. Submit budget and obtain annual funds from the Information School.
  5. Serve as primary account handler for all financial transactions including, but not limited to, reimbursements.

Director of Operations:

  1. Maintain the Association’s records and calendar.
  2. Take minutes at the Association’s meetings and distribute them to the Association’s members.
  3. Counts and verifies all votes for the election of officers.
  4. Communicate announcements within the Association to its members when representing the executive officers as a whole. This includes setting up catalyst surveys and sending out emails to iMajors.
  5. Responsible for reserving rooms for IUGA sponsored events.

Director of Information Technology:

  1. Organize and/or delegate the creation/maintenance of the Association’s web presence including but not limited to the Association website, and listserv.
  2. Has the power to create a web team consisting of the Association’s members.
  3. Maintain and provide support for the Association’s information systems.
  4. Responsible for setting up and running LAN parties, with help from other officers.

Director of Public Relations:

  1. Serve as public relations contact.
  2. Promote the Informatics program to the University and the business community at large.
  3. Organize activities for the Association’s members involving the professional community.
  4. Maintain IUGA facebook presence and create facebook events for every IUGA sponsored event.

Outreach Coordinator:

  1. Serve as secondary relations contact focused on external communication.
  2. Assist Public Relations officer in promoting Informatics Program and/or employment opportunities.
  3. Be primary point of contact to development office concerning Alumni Relations.
