Server Workshop Follow Up
First of all, thanks to all of you who attended my workshop. I had a great time and I hope you all did too.
I’m sorry we weren’t able to get all the way through the content I had prepared, but I feel like the things we did cover, we covered thoroughly rather than just breezing over them. For those of you that missed the workshop, or wish to finish configuring your server, I’ve linked them below:
The workshop outline with all necessary commands: http://docs.google.com/Doc?docid=0AcdjcDS8H8_JZGZkYjZqZjJfOTJkOWRoN3pnZw&hl=en
The audio recording of the event: http://iuga.info/workshopAudio.zip
There are a few tutorial websites that I find myself consistently going to for advice on installing new services, a few of my favorites are: http://howtoforge.com http://www.cyberciti.biz/ http://irongeek.com. If you do run into trouble while configuring a Linux server, you should find the Linux community to be very helpful. I’ve found good help at http://www.linuxforums.org/forum/ http://www.debian-administration.org/ http://www.debianadmin.com/
Thanks again to those who were able to make it. I’ll look into hosting a followup workshop, but either way, please don’t hesitate to ask me any Linux/server related questions either by email to iuga@braxtonehle.com or in the TE lab.
