2011-2012 IUGA Officer Elections Information

To nominate someone or to run, simply send an email to iuga@uw.edu stating your name and position you wish to seek.
Here are the available positions and their associated duties:
President:
- Call all member meetings of the Association and preside over them.
- Be responsible for the administration of any business of the Association.
- Represent the Informatics student body in meetings with the faculty.
- Hold transitional meetings with past and present directors.
- Spokesperson for the Association.
- In the event of the Director of Finance’s absence, serve as secondary account handler for all financial transactions including, but not limited to, reimbursements.
Vice President:
- Assume the duties of the President in that director’s absence.
- Organize and/or delegate responsibility for social events.
- Maintain and promote community outreach with assistance of the Director of Public Relations
- Oversee all committees and report their status to the President.
Director of Finance:
- Maintain the Association’s financial records.
- Provide monthly financial reports to the Associations’ executive board.
- Organize and delegate responsibility for annual fundraising events.
- Submit budget and obtain annual funds from the Information School.
- Serve as primary account handler for all financial transactions including, but not limited to reimbursements.
Director of Operations:
- Maintain the Association’s records and calendar.
- Take minutes at the Association’s meetings and distribute them to the Association’s members.
- Counts and verifies all votes for the election of officers.
- Communicate announcements within the Association to its members when representing the executive officers as a whole.
Director of Information Technology:
- Organize and/or delegate the creation/maintenance of the Association’s web presence including but not limited to the Association’s website, and listserv.
- Has the power to create a web team consisting of the Association’s members.
- Maintain and provide support for the Association’s information systems.
Director of Public relations:
- Serve as a public relations contact
- Promote the Informatics program to the University and the business community at large.
- Organize activities for the Association’s members involving the professional community.
Outreach Coordinator
- Serve as secondary relations contact focused on external communication.
- Assist Public Relations officer in promoting Informatics Program and/or employment opportunities.
- Be primary point of contact to development office concerning Alumni Relations
